Wilcox was contracted to provide emergency removal actions in response to a Unilateral Agreed Order (UAO) issued by the USEPA Region 5 office. We received USEPA approval for the Work Plan to complete the removal of the chlorinated solvent contamination in the subsurface. We managed and directed delineation of vapor intrusion in both residential and commercial properties, delineated the extent of perchloroethylene (PCE) contamination in subsurface soil and groundwater (including the municipal potable water well field), designed and implemented a cost-effective and highly efficient remediation system, provided operation and maintenance for both the remediation system and vapor intrusion mitigation systems and completed all required monitoring and reporting to the USEPA per the UAO. We met the USEPA objectives and were directed to close the remediation system.
