Steve Wilcox has over 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting and engineering field. He helped to establish Astbury Environmental Engineering, Inc. (now Wilcox) in 1994 with company founder, Dan Astbury. Steve served as Astbury’s first Senior Project Manager, and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 1999. Steve assumed the role of President and CEO in 2004 and obtained exclusive ownership of Wilcox in August of 2011.

Steve has developed and diversified Wilcox’s core services by establishing divisions and key staff in the areas of industrial compliance, health and safety, and stack testing. Steve’s background is primarily in site investigation and remediation services, providing impacted property solutions and cost recovery to petroleum, industrial, commercial, legal, and real estate clientele. Steve has been the principal manager for more than 300 contaminated site investigation/remediation projects in his career, with more than 100 successfully closed impacted property projects. In addition to managing Wilcox’s business, administration, technical, and marketing efforts, Steve remains closely involved with staff lending his experience and expertise to achieve client closure objectives.

Steve has been responsible for management and closure of more than $40 million in site investigation and remediation accounts. His projects involved work at gasoline stations, trucking facilities, airports, and industrial facilities. During his time as a Senior Project Manager, Steve managed all phases of site investigation, corrective action planning, permitting, compliance, regulatory communication, monitoring, operations and maintenance, and project reporting. He has managed more than 70 IDEM-LUSTS and ELTF Section governed projects; these projects included all phases of site delineation, UST closure, interim remedial action, free product abatement, pilot testing/feasibility studies, corrective action planning, remediation system design, remediation system implementation, and site closure. He has achieved better than 98% reimbursement from ELTF claims for a total of over $25 million.
