Jim has more than 35 years of experience in the environmental industry, with extensive experience in investigating and remediating soil and groundwater impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, organic solvents, wood-preserving chemicals, and toxic metals at commercial, industrial, electric utility, and mine sites.
Jim’s professional experience includes hydrogeologic site characterization; hydraulic evaluation and design of soil and groundwater remediation systems; analytical, semi-analytical, and numerical modeling of groundwater flow systems and fate and transport of organic and inorganic solutes; groundwater quality assessments of industrial sites, solid-waste landfills, and disposal areas for coal-combustion wastes; statistical analyses of groundwater quality data; coal-combustion residual and solid-waste landfill siting studies, investigations, and closures; health-based risk assessments; vapor-intrusion assessments; and sustainable remediation methods. Active client groups include manufacturers, electric utilities, law firms, local governments, insurers, and dry cleaners.
Jim is an expert in the Indiana regulatory environment and currently serves on the Midwestern States Environmental Consultants Association (MSECA) board of directors. He formerly served on MSECA’s site-characterization focus group, which worked with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to develop sections of Indiana’s Remediation Closure Guide (RCG).Go Back
